The idea

Perfectly good food,
thrown out at closing.

A bakery cannot know how many patties will sell by midnight. A biryani shop cannot predict the last degh. So at closing time, food that is still fresh gets binned.

Aakhri Dabba turns that into your dinner. Shops pack what is left into a surprise dabba. You reserve it in seconds and collect it at closing. Nothing wasted, and you eat well for less.

  • Fresh food from today, not old stock
  • Up to 70 percent off the normal price
  • Cash on pickup, no advance payment

How it works

Three steps, done in a minute.

  1. A bakery counter full of fresh pastries
    01

    Find a dabba near you

Browse shops around you and see what they have tonight, with the pickup window and the price before you commit.

  2. A dessert being plated
    02

Reserve it, or name your price

Tap reserve at the listed price. On selected dabbas you can bid instead, and the highest offer at closing takes it home.

  3. A cafe breakfast plate
    03

Collect it, or get it delivered

Show your code at the counter in your pickup window, or pay a small delivery fee and we bring it to your door.

Questions

Everything you might ask.

What exactly is a dabba?

It is a surprise box of food a shop still has at closing time, sold at a large discount. You know the shop, the pickup window and the price before you reserve. You do not know the exact contents, because neither does the shop until the day is over.

Is the food old or leftover?

No. It is food made that same day that simply did not sell before closing. Fresh bread, pastries, cooked meals, desserts. Shops are not allowed to list anything they would not sell to a paying customer that day.

How much does a dabba cost?

Each shop sets its own price, and you always see it before you reserve. The whole point is that a dabba costs a fraction of what the same food would normally cost, typically up to about 70 percent less.

How do I pay?

Cash when you collect. No advance payment and no card needed. JazzCash, Easypaisa and card payments are planned, but cash on pickup will always stay an option.

When do I collect it?

Inside the pickup window the shop sets, which is usually near closing. Karachi runs late, so many windows fall between 10 PM and 2 AM, and some go later. You choose a slot inside that window at checkout, and some shops also offer collection the next morning.

Can I get it delivered instead?

Yes, where the shop offers it. Choose delivery at checkout, add your address, and a small delivery fee is added per shop. Pickup stays free.

What is "name your price"?

On selected dabbas you can offer what you think it is worth instead of paying the listed price. Other customers can outbid you, and the highest bid when the shop closes takes the dabba. Shops always set a minimum they will accept.

Can I choose what goes in it?

Not item by item, that is what keeps it cheap. You can filter by the kind of shop, and each listing tells you what is usually inside plus any allergen information the shop provides. If you have a serious allergy, ask the shop directly before you collect.
